Bond of Love Maryann Jordan The third in the series is one of the most emotional. Alicia and Ben come together through the loss of Alicia's twin brother's death. Though Ben was pulled toward Alicia through the letters she wrote to James. He shared her funny stories with his tent mates. Her care packages also got to him.. Maryann knows how to play the heartstrings with this story so be prepared with a box of Kleenex to read a most touching and loving story about heartbreak being helped by love.

Have the tissue handy. An emotional story that brings Alicia and Ben together. They start out offering support for each other after tragedy strikes. The Letters they exchange starts as support and evolves into a stronger relationship. However Bens job is very dangerous since he is stationed in Afghanistan. Will this draw them together or end the budding relationship. Adult language and content but well worth your time!

This novella starts out by giving us a glimpse of Army life for Army mechanics Ben and James. Ben and James met in Basic training and were later assigned to the same unit. They are sent to recover Army vehicles that have been taken out by the enemy. They are also responsible for rebuilding vehicles from recovered parts, when possible. During their down time, James shares letters from his twin sister Alicia with his Army buddies. During one of the recovery missions James loses his life. Ben and Alicia are devasted and having a really hard time dealing with their grief. On the off chance that Alicia may want to know about James' Army life, Ben reaches out to Alicia. As they help each other get through the grief, they become friends. Upon discharge, Alicia invites Ben to meet her and her family. Ben surprises her by showing up early, during Christmas dinner. He immediately bonds with her family and Ben and Alicia quickly become more than friends. Although I absolutely LOVED this novella, it is a tear jerker! I cried throughout the whole novella! It was a well-written, sensitive, devastatingly beautiful story. The story and interaction were so good, I couldn't put it down. I also loved learning about the different organizations that send care packages to the military. Well done! I read a gifted copy and all opinions expressed are my own.
